Dustin Welch, Drew Smith @ Momo’s July 24th, 2009

Friday night was a fun one at Momo’s. We walked in to see that Dustin Welch has made a recent and dramatic change to his look–a bit of a buzz cut instead of the mop we’re all so fond of. He played a very nice acoustic set. I really enjoyed hearing his songs without the full band for a change.

Then it was downstairs to the Katz’s bar, Meow, for a delicious french dip for me, and some salad and veggies for Miss Dedra. A very nice girl by the name of Cashmere informed the patrons, table-by-table, that she would be happy to bring them complimentary rum drinks of a certain brand. Dedra and I happily accepted.

Finally, back to Momo’s to catch Drew Smith’s Lonely Choir for another great set of music, including his new single, Bank Ain’t Got The Loan, which will be released soon along with a video I’ve been working on with Smith, for the song. I’ll post that up as soon as we have the go ahead from the Smith camp.

Congratulations go out to Drew’s musical partner, Matt Russell and his wife, Candice on their recent nuptials!

Be sure to catch Drew Smith and many other favorites at the Momo’s Anniversary shows later in August.

Iron City Soul Shakers, Arc Angels @ Antones, July 11, 2009

Jam-packed crowd. I met people who came in from all over the country to see the Arc Angels. But, they were extremely impressed by opening act, Iron City Soul Shakers, too. Here are a few shots from the show.

Honeybrowne @ Hill’s Cafe

Some shots of Fred Andrews from tonight’s (Wed. July 8, 2009) Honeybrowne show at Hill’s Cafe in Austin.

Drew Smith @ The Mohawk

Drew shows us what one guy, a guitar, and beautiful music sounds like. He performed a 10 p.m. set tonight (Monday, July 6th) at The Mohawk in Austin. The audience enjoyed some favorites, as well as some new material. Drew finished off the set with one of my favorites, Something So Much.

Gary Clark, Jr.

This Saturday, June 27th, 2009: Gary Clark, Jr. brings new songs to the Antone’s stage. He’s an amazing musical artist, expanding his sound. Catch him at this show and see the evolution for yourself. I highly recommend this show.

You’ll be seeing and hearing more about Wink Keziah in the next few months. I wanted to share an image from our recent shoot. From Wink’s site:

“I’ve been wanting to make the move to Austin for quite a few years now, and now the time has come. I am moving to my new hometown of Austin, TX this month with Greta, Jesse (our hound) and the band to start our new adventure and to live out our life and dreams.”
