I’ve spent the past couple of days trying to organize my images. I have a LOT of different images. Some I have posted here, some I have posted on my website, some on HDRSpotting.com, some are sold by local art dealers and gift shops. Most just sit forgotten on my hard drives hoping to be discovered. I am trying to bring order to this chaos . Not an easy task for me. I will be the first to admit I am organizationally challenged. An additional benefit of reviewing all these old images is I keep discovering photos that I had forgotten. This is one such image. I photographed this one evening when I was pulling some images together for Midwest Living Magazine. They were looking for images of 6th Street for an article on Austin so I thought I would shoot some fresh shots to try & get the sale. They actually ended up using another of my 6th street photos I shot that same evening. You can see that photo here.

University of Texas at Austin – evening

I took this photo from Robert Dedman Drive, facing the East Mall.
Another attempt to make a tone mapped image. There is a slight reddish tint to the image, but I like it. Managed to make it somewhat interesting, I hope. The clouds aren’t too interesting though.
Texas Capitol Annex

This ‘purple hour’ photo of the Texas Capitol Annex is another image I shot during the recent Trey Ratcliff photowalk. This is a side that relatively few tourist see. This is on the north site of the capitol looking south. Most visitors walk up Congress avenue from the business & music district on the south side and enter the building from the south, never seeing this view.

I’ve done several post showing various photos of the Texas Capitol (here). This one is actually inside the Capitol looking down at the floor under the Rotunda. If you look closely, you will see the Texas DPS officers that keep an eye on things standing on the ground floor. To their credit, they have always pretty much left me alone while I photographed this beautiful building.

Sixth Street in Austin Texas is known an one of the great streets in the world to go party. Every year during the international music festival ‘South by Southwest’ it is even more so. This year (2010) St. Patrick’s day fell during SXSW to add even more fuel to the party.

Springtime in Texas means wildflowers. And I, I’m feeling like spring. The sun is out, ok, it’s 39 degrees outside, but there is a gentle breeze, it just feels like spring is around the corner. Very soon flowers will start to bloom along the Texas roadways. With all the rain we have had hopefully, there will be lots of wildflowers. Hopefully in the next few months I’ll have some great wildflower shots to post. We shall see…

This past Saturday I went out to the “Lone Star Rod & Kustom Roundup” here in Austin Texas and took a few photographs. Ok, I actually took a few hundred… So many amazing cars that just screamed for a bit of photo magic! Here is a ‘57 Caddy that to my eye looks like it could have walked right out of the animated movie “Cars”. Beautiful!
