Daily Photo – The Harleyfest on 6th Street
This is one of the best times in Austin for HDR Photography! I really think it’s perfect perfect conditions to really show off what this style of photography can do. Long exposures just don’t do the trick. The wonderful thing about being there is that the human eye really can see all these colors and light levels at the same time. At least… to those of us that see like this. I’m convinced that after talking to countless groups that not everyone "sees" in the same way. It’s not that one way is better than another – just different. What do you think?

uhhh :) its all evil look here nice work :)

  3. Mikey Brick says:

I don’t quite see like that, though I certainly see far more detail than a single camera exposure records. And I’m sure most people could train themselves to see that way. I used to shoot b&w film at least 80% of the time for over a decade, and I see b&w exposures pretty well.

  4. ¡TK! says:

i’ll be darned if this is really how you see things.. this is super detailed!

  5. Dorobozaru says:

At night I don’t see much of anything! But in the daytime I definitely feel like the world is in HDR (or it should be!) It’s so frustrating when I can’t capture all the colour I see on my little point-and-shoot camera.

  6. ms4jah says:

I wonder what is going on with the blue light on the wheels of the motorcyles. It all looks great. And I also want to know about how I can get involved in this.

Hmm. . . maybe I’m too late? I often miss the boat.

  7. Rubinho1 says:

    Absolutely fantastic work! Great done!

  29. James Loesch says:

I’m beginning to see in HDR but I’m still surprised sometimes by all the options in Photomatix processing, let alone CS4 and plug in’s, that affect my final image.

Do you know why Photomatix setting appear in some peoples ‘more properties" and not others? I like to check that kind of info.

  34. waywardtraveler says:

Very true. I completely agree that people do see things differently, especially amongst photographers. But this of course is what makes photography so great and why Flickr continues to exist. Ten people could take a shot of the same subject and potentially come up with ten completely different results.

    Nice shot btw. :-)

  35. susan_r4 says:

Love this Trey and those blues are beautiful!

  36. Mohd Khomaini Bin Mohd Sidik says:

    This is marvellous!
Those blues are really stand out and very very beautiful!
    Well done!

  37. Philerooski says:

It can be strange. I’ll have people comment that this hdr photo is the most amazing thing they’ve ever seen while others just kind of look at me weird like I’m dealing with dark magic or something.

  38. Ryan Hartson-Weddle says:

I think some people process photos the way they wish/want to see things.

But this is a nice image.

  39. Φωτογραφία says:

    Holy Harley!

  40. Preyas. says:

looks like a still from some game

  41. dantheserene says:

Interestingly, at least the first three bikes are *not* Harleys, but metric cruisers of some type. I *think* the first three are Yamaha Stars, but I’m no expert on metrics.

  57. Dayanair says:

Another awesome shot of Austin, Texas *hugs* Beautiful colors :)

  58. ARealRider says:

These aren’t Harleys these are Yamahas. A true rider would know. The bikes don’t have Harley fenders and don’t have Harley transmissions. OR the Harley 2 piece tanks. They’re beautiful but get it right.
