even a little one… Also, If you like my photography, check out my website/blog at: www.JohnRRogers.com for more information.
This past Saturday I went out to the “Lone Star Rod & Kustom Roundup” here in Austin Texas and took a few photographs. Ok, I actually took a few hundred… So many amazing cars that just screamed for a bit of photo magic! Here is a ‘57 Caddy that to my eye looks like it could have walked right out of the animated movie “Cars”. Beautiful!

The Restaurant in Tokyo that Inspired that crazy scene from Kill Bill

(orig size is cool too!)
When I was in Tokyo, I had a great time out with Altus! He stayed with me here in Austin, and we were able to meet up for a fun time of photography out in Tokyo. That’s one of the BEST things about having a blog, I must say! It gives me the chance to meet all kinds of nice people like YOU that extend gracious invitations for photography!
After dark, Altus took me to this cool restaurant. The manager was very nice and let us sit where we wanted and then a carte-blanche for taking photos. He asked if I would send him photos and if I charge… and I told him no… I do this stuff for fun! So, we have a smart and well-movied community here – who can tell me the name of this restaurant?
Peachpit definitely has the sample from my book up on their website now. Just click on "Sample Content" and you’ll be in good shape. There are some very good tips just in that 20 pages!

Charity Stuff Going Nicely
Just recently, I announced that a percentage of all book profits are going to Kiva. So far, we’ve gotten over ,900 from Team Stuck In Customs, so that is great! You can find out more on the charity page or a recent post on the Kiva blog.
Holiday Gift Guide for Dads
Thanks to Cali at www.geekbrief.tv/662 on her recent Holiday Gifts episode for the nice things she said about the website here. She mentioned the "Stuck in Motion" page here on the site. And YES, I do have a new video coming soon! I am thinking about debuting it at the Austin Book Party launch on December 9th.
Daily Photo – The Crash of the Surf
While driving down 17-mile drive a few weeks ago, I stopped for a while to go on a little beach hike! While there, I found this little area…. I set up for a while to see what rolled in!

London Eye from the Westminster Bridge

Austin Photographer John R. Rogers shot this photograph. Check out the website JohnRRogers.com for more information & please make a comment .
I’ve been fortunate to have had the opportunity to visit London several times and I always enjoy my visits. This is the view from the Westminster bridge looking across to the London Eye. If you have never been there, even with the scale of the multi-story building standing to it’s right, it’s hard to get a perspective how large the Eye actually is. It’s about 40 stories tall and each of the capsules holds about two dozen people. The post in the foreground is actually part of the Westminster Bridge. If you check out one of my previous post with a view of the House of Commons (here) you can see this bridge on the right side of the frame and the posts on top of each bridge column.

Community Swimming Pool, Austin, TX
My son enjoys his jump into the pool. Also a nice place to test out my new 70-200 zoom lens. Hey, I get to take my son to the pool and take photographs. An unbeatable combination.

Alone in Winter, Against the World… (and I am selling my camera on eBay)

This is one desolate place.
It’s the southern coast of Iceland where the sea and the wind were absolutely ripping their way past me and the lighthouse. I always imagine what it is like to be inside of one of those lighthouses, all night long through the winter. I can’t even envision what that would be like, and after only a short time there in the icy wind, I got the willies and was happy to get out of there.
Also, for something completely different, my Nikon D3X came in today and I was first on the list for Austin! I stayed up with the guys at work for too long and didn’t make it to the store to pick it up! But, this weekend it’s on my list for sure! I’m going to be making an eBay listing to sell my amazing Nikon D2Xs, which is still in excellent never-dropped condition. If you are interested in buying the D2Xs from me before the eBay auction even starts (saving me a bit of trouble!), please go right ahead and send me an email with "D2Xs" in the subject. I’m going to include my a Premium Texture Video Tutorial for free as well as a signed print. And if you are in the central Texas area, I’ll even be glad to meet you in person for the delivery!
