Guero’s

South Congress Avenue, Austin, TX
Continuing up South Congress Avenue we get to Guero’s Taco Bar. Guero’s has a restaurant where –tradewinds•> and I ate dinner as well as an outdoor area, pictured here. This is a great spot for live music performances and at times it can get quite crowded.

She was so happy and amazed at the reception she received from the fans at the festival, and the look on her face here tells it all.
Booming Austin

I am looking forward to all these cranes getting finished so I can take a final shot of downtown! As soon as I think they are done, another building starts up. I’m not sure the expected completion date, but I do have a shot in mind for that day. I’m not sure if it will work out… but it’s worth a try!
There is an interview on FOX news here in Austin tomorrow morning. It’s a live shot and I’ll be on a few times throughout the show… I know we’ll be talking about HDR photography and I might even have a tripod set up…we’ll see! I know most of y’all aren’t in Austin, so I’ll try to get a link up…

An evening in Manhattan Beach

It was a cool night… much cooler than the 100 degree heat here in Austin this week! I stopped to take this picture on the way back to my hotel for the evening… people coming and going down by the pier.
My Tutorial is right here – I have over 16,500 unread emails – sorry but I am too swamped – but most of you ask for that tutorial, so there it is!

Yes, it is mid-November, but I was still able to grow some wildflowers and get them to bloom in a flower pot on my porch. I live in the Central Texas region just south of Austin. In January it can reach lows of 10 to 20 F (-10 to 0 C), but our first frost generally isn’t until early November. The background flowers are a rose plant in full bloom too.
The natural vegetation in the nearby forest is dying as winter creeps towards us, but it’s only dropped below the freezing point once since autumn began, which has allowed me to grow these flowers without much of a problem.
