Will Sexton played a relaxed couple of sets to a sparse but enthusiastic Midnight crowd at the Saxon Pub on July 25.
Ahh, great coffee and great music. Carolyn Wonderland and Cole El-Saleh played Ruta Maya today at 6pm. First song of the set was one Carolyn co-wrote with another Austin favorite, Ruthie Foster. Slide, horn, Telecaster… and a round of B-I-N-G-O for the younger members of the audience!
Got to talk to an old friend, Bruce Hughes tonight just before the Saxon Pub’s Sunday night show featuring The Resentments. Bruce plays bass for the band. Great show! I dropped by the KGSR sponsored “Blues On The Green - Antone’s 31’st Anniversary” free concert at Zilker Park’s Rock Island tonight to check out one of my favorite’s, Gary Clark, Jr. He’s a monster blues guitarist and terrific singer.
